2018 Chevy Silverado 3500 Specs, Price

The prospect of Silverado 3500 is being transcended into a new generation as 2018 Chevy Silverado 3500 concludes that the pickup truck segment has better days to see. Serious work ethics is what Chevrolet’s 3500 line-ups of Heavy Duty pickups are all about. These work pickups are literally land leviathans as they possess a dominating demeanor. Be that as it may Chevrolet never gets enough as they have great persistence towards improving their models consistently.  The current (2017) line-up of Silverado 3500 holds tuned performance which is expected to see further refinements as part of new generation update. Above all, it will be interesting to see how 2018 Chevy Silverado 3500 will live up to the repute of its predecessor.

To highlight Silverado pickup’s versatility prowess, the Chevrolet will also present several Special Editions that will appear as stand-alone models in this crowded genre. These Special Edition models include

  • Redline IT
  • Midnight HD
  • High Desert

  • Molded Splash Guards
  • Assist Steps
  • Hard Folding Tonneau Cover
  • Stationary Toolbox
  • Spray-In Bedliner.

The 2018 Chevy Silverado 3500 will retain the boxy stance with squarish fenders. This time, the rear wheel arches will get beefed-up for a muscular projection. The headlights will integrate HID projectors and LED daytime running lights will come as optional. Exterior color options will range as Summit White, Red Hot, Butte Red Metallic, Silver Ice Metallic, Black and Graphite Metallic.

Powertrain Options

To keep up with heavy duty repertoire, the 2018 Chevy Silverado 3500 will include 2 engine options – a Vortec™ 6.0L V8 and Duramax® 6.6L turbodiesel V8.

The Vortec™ 6.0L V8 will come as a standard engine and work with a heavy duty 6-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission. For 2018 update, this engine will receive aluminum cylinder block heads and rubber mounts which will cater fuel savings. The net outputs are expected to improve by 2% and the figures will stay close to 360 HP at 5,400 RPM and 380 lb-ft torque at 4,300 RPM.

The 2018 Chevy Silverado 3500 will also offer Duramax® 6.6L turbodiesel V8 as an optional choice. However, this engine will definitely gain limelight as it is suspected to improve on its class-leading 910 lb-ft of torque. The Chevrolet will use taller engine blocks for an efficient piston design that will be helpful in reducing back-kick lag. This engine will pair up with an Allison® 1000 6-speed automatic transmission and produce the power of around 445 HP; enough to compete against Ford F-350 Super Duty, GMC Sierra 3500HD and also with Ram 3500. Just like the 2017 generation model, this engine will include isolated injectors and acoustic rocker covers.
