The 2022 Ford Ranchero is another interesting model. This pickup truck will hit the dealerships next year, as a direct replacement for the Ford Courier model. The pickup truck segment is growing, especially in North America. At this moment, the segment is mostly crowded with body-on-frame pickups. However, unibody variants are slowly taking that place.
For that reason, Ford, and other established manufacturers are turning to unibody construction. Ranchero was a very famous model back in the days. In terms of styling, the 2022 Ford Ranchero is still a mystery. At this moment, some renderings are available and are giving us an idea of how the Ranchero pickup will look like. The front fascia is showed with a similar design that you can find on the Ford Escape crossover SUV. Of course, Ranchero will look more rugged and unique.
We expect a practical model with smart design solutions, closer to the Bronco SUV. Whatsoever, most of the Ranchero features will be similar to the Bronco’s features. There will be two different lengths of the wheelbase and the crew cab setup will be on offer. As we said, Ranchero will be larger than the Courier model.
Interior Features
Again, the interior of the 2022 Ford Ranchero is based on the Escape crossover SUV. On the other hand, Ranchero will be an affordable pickup so we don’t expect that level of luxury. Anyway, Blue Oval will deliver a practical cabin with plenty of interior room.
Most likely, Ford will deliver luxury, but only in the range-topping trim level. The base variant comes with cheaper materials, cloth upholstery, and a smaller display. The Ranchero pickup will provide a standard 7-inch touchscreen and probably an updated SYNC3 infotainment system.
Engine Rumors
The upcoming 2022 Ford Ranchero will most likely arrive with smaller EcoBoost powertrain options. That includes a 1.5-liter EcoBoost gasoline variant as standard engine choices. A larger 2.0-liter EcoBoost will be optional, according to reliable sources. Some rumors are predicting a 2.3-liter engine that can be found in the Focus RS model.
Still, we can’t confirm if this is the official engine lineup at the moment. Ranchero model won’t offer any sort of electrification, and the high-performance variant is another mystery. Diesel could happen, but not in the United States. Instead, Ford will offer diesel-powered Ranchero in South America.
2022 Ford Ranchero Price, Release Date
The base 2022 Ford Ranchero will cost $20,000 or even slightly below that. As we said, Ranchero will replace the Courier model in South America and it will go on sale in the last quarter of 2021. The sales will begin in Brazil, and even the US-spec version will become available, at some point next year.
