The 2022 GMC Sierra Denali will be the finest version of the refreshed truck. The top of the range model will offer the most luxurious equipment. Well, the pickup will have an off-road version that can beat the Denali package in this segment. But, when it comes to comfort, safety, convenience, and entertainment, it is hard to keep pace with this trim even outside the GM family.
Denali is the most luxurious packages for all vehicles with the GMC badge. It tops other trims, such as SLT and SLE. Of course, engineers will deploy the most potent unit for the 2022 GMC Sierra Denali. That is a 6.2-liter V8 with 420 horsepower. There are rumors that General Motors is planning to add another option for big rigs, but we doubt the truck is getting some different engine.
Finally, the premium package will cost more than any other version. This could be called a major downside. Nevertheless, you cannot expect premium equipment at a low price.
2022 GMC Sierra Denali Features and Accessories
The 2022 GMC Sierra Denali is offering the ultimate options the company is installing in its vehicles. This package upgrades the SLT, which is also coming with more than attractive features. There, we can find a 10-way driver’s bucket and heated front row. Denali will make them ventilated as well, while the rear bench is also getting heating. Blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control are highlights of the safety system. An 8-inch touchscreen will be carried over from the SLT version. Nevertheless, the infotainment system is getting a huge boost with premium audio by Bose and the navigation. The MultiPro six-way tailgate is already available at lower levels. Sierra Denali gets unique 20-inch wheels for the full-size truck and power-sliding rear windows.
Which Truck is Better: Denali or AT4?
The answer to this question depends on the driver’s needs. While the 2022 GMC Sierra Denali is a luxury pickup, the AT4 is an off-roader. The first one enhances comfort, while the other one maximizes the performance in tough situations. All the gadgets and options inside the cabin are replaced by features that will make the 4×4 get over any obstacle. The four-wheel drive is standard, the suspension is set up for the toughest terrains, and the AT4 also brings hill descent control. Skid plates are also standard. It is also cheaper.
2022 GMC Sierra Denali vs. Ford F-150 Limited
There is one truck in the same segment that is more expensive than the Sierra Denali. Ford loaded the legendary F-150 with many features to make the Limited version’s MSRP starting at $71,000. For this money, you will get 450 hp from a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine. Also, the Blue Oval company will use a larger set of 22-inch wheels. Power tailgate, sunroof, wood trimming, rain-sensing wipers, and leather seats are all coming if you select the F-150 Limited edition.
2022 GMC Sierra Denali Specs
The 2022 GMC Sierra Denali will skip all the small blocks and weak engines in the lineup. The luxury truck brings all the premium options, including the powerplant. And for the full-size truck, that is a 6.2-liter V8 with 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. The start/stop system will help this huge unit save some fuel. Nevertheless, it can become annoying and drivers can deactivate the function. A 10-speed automatic transmission sends power to rear wheels. For the AWD, you must pay extra.
Unfortunately, the Denali truck is not offering other options and General Motors made a choice pretty wide. For example, a 2.7-liter turbo-four was added recently. A small displacement is a counterpart to Ford’s EcoBoost and it creates 310 hp and 350 lb-ft. A 4.3-liter V6 is not expected to be part of the premium offer, but we could see a 5.3-liter V8 as the entry-level option, which can be upgraded to a 6.2-liter engine. Finally, there is a diesel unit with a lot of torque and a way better gas mileage. Again, the truckmaker is not making it available for pairing with the 2022 GMC Sierra Denali.
2022 GMC Sierra Denali Price and Release Date
The truck is going to be refreshed for the upcoming season. The 2021 YM is already out and the following model will bring significant updates. One of them will be the starting MSRP. All the trims available with a 6.2-liter engine are starting above the $50,000 mark. In the 2022 GMC Sierra Denali case, the premium package makes it significantly higher. Do not expect a bargain and be ready to splash at least $60,000. With additional options, the price of the luxury truck can reach $70,000.
The release date is expected late in 2021. A lot of changes are on the way, but the GMC also plans the new generation of the mid-size Canyon. The focus is now on this segment, as well as the possible compact pickup.
