The upcoming 2022 Nissan Titan XD is about to get more significant updates. This pickup truck is now selling well, but not as good as before. Because of that, the Titan XD needs a lot of improvements, and Nissan will deliver it all. The Japanese manufacturer is also opting for additional changes, including the return of the diesel powertrain.
The Titan XD is only available in a crew cab configuration, but a diesel engine will surely satisfy the fans. Interestingly, Titan XD is a category by itself, so this model currently has no real competitors. Specific styling updates and numerous interior refreshments will be among the most recent additions. The sales will begin by the end of 2021.
New Engine is Still On the Cards
As we said, the highlight of the 2022 Nissan Titan XD is its diesel powertrain option. But first, this truck rides on a 5.6-liter V8 gasoline engine. It is the same engine that powers Infiniti QX80 and Nissan Armada SUVs. Recently, some stories reported about new engine options. This time, it is a relatively new twin-turbo V6 gasoline powertrain, but there’s no official confirmation yet.
On the other hand, a 5.0-liter V8 diesel engine will be on offer for sure. It is a turbodiesel output with 330 horsepower and 555 lb-ft of torque. Exact engine specs are not available at the moment, but the diesel variant will surely deliver improved fuel efficiency and more torque.
2022 Titan XD Nismo
As you know, Nissan is slowly introducing its famous Nismo treatment. According to the latest reports, the 2022 Nissan Titan XD is the next candidate for this sporty upgrade. This is another great news for the Titan pickup and surely a great addition to the lineup. Unfortunately, this is not confirmed yet, but the latest reports are strongly suggesting for this variant to happen in the coming months.
Nismo delivers a sportier appearance, various cosmetic upgrades, additional colors, and much more. The styling is more aggressive, including the side profile and the hood. Wheels are larger and the truck’s stance will be slightly lower. The final result is a hot pickup truck with a sporty vibe and incredible performances.
The 2022 Nissan Titan XD could also get a special edition, based on the famous Warrior Concept. Even Nissan admits the Titan XD is a perfect candidate, as this model lacks some sort of optional package or special edition. The Warrior is a well-known concept that comes with a more stylish appearance and more aggressive bodywork.
Whatsoever, the concept looks closer to the Ram TRX truck. Nissan plans to do the same thing with the Titan truck. If this truly happens, then this model will arrive with additional off-road goodies, higher ride height, unique tires, and possibly a more potent engine.
2022 Nissan Titan XD Price, Release Date
The price of the all-new 2022 Nissan Titan XD will start at $35,000, or slightly below that. The launch date is another mystery, but this truck will surely hit the dealerships by the end of 2021.
