2023 Chevy Colorado Redesign, Engine Specs, and Interior Changes

The upcoming 2023 Chevy Colorado is due for significant changes. Dimensionally, it will be the same mid-size truck, competing with Ford Ranger and Toyota Tacoma. Colorado comes with great versatility and it is a model with plenty of customization. That includes numerous trim levels and special editions. The shape will also remain, but the styling is new.

Moreover, the interior should gain a couple of impressive upgrades as well. As for the engine options, we believe the Chevy Colorado won’t change. Still, it is a model with the class-leading towing capacity at the moment. The sales will begin later in 2022.

Chevy Colorado Redesign

As we said, the new 2023 Chevy Colorado will remain dimensionally the same model. This means the 31XX platform remains as well, along with the truck’s shape. However, Chevrolet plans to deliver a lot of visual upgrades. For a start, the Colorado model will wear a new grille and slimmer headlights. Thanks to that, the front fascia will look better and more modern.

We also expect to see new wheels, tires, and exterior paints. The rear section will host brand-new taillights with improved graphics. Some spy shots are already here, but heavy camouflage perfectly hides all of the novelties on the new Colorado truck.

Interior Changes

Reportedly, the new 2023 Chevy Colorado will have the same cab configurations and trim levels. You can choose between the crew cab and extended cab versions. Chevrolet will equip the next Colorado truck with additional cameras and new safety technologies. Towing tech and similar features will be borrowed from the full-size Silverado pickup truck. Real luxury is only available in the range-topping trim levels.

The base variant provides an eight-inch touchscreen as standard, along with the cloth upholstery. However, bigger display and leather seats are standard in premium-grade variants. This mid-size truck will introduce standard features such as rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot warning.

Specs

This is the biggest question at the moment. The 2023 Chevy Colorado could arrive with only two engine options. If you didn’t know, the current Colorado model offers three powertrain choices: the base four-cylinder, optional turbodiesel, and optional V6 gasoline engine. The platform is the same, so new Colorado will once again offer a standard rear-wheel-drive setup.

On the other hand, a four-wheel-drive system will be optional. A hybrid option is a possibility, but it is not official yet. Moreover, some reports are suggesting a new 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine. This engine produces 310 hp and up to 350 lb-ft of torque. It is an engine that also powers the GMC Sierra model.

2023 Chevy Colorado Price and Release Date

The price of the next 2023 Chevy Colorado will start at about $27,500. We expect a small increase in price, as the Colorado model comes with a new look, more features, and possibly a new engine lineup. The mid-range Z71 trim level will cost around $36,500 and the off-road ZR2 variant around $45,000. The sales will begin in the second half of 2022.
