2023 Chevy Silverado 2500HD to Introduce Significantly More Power

The upcoming 2023 Chevy Silverado 2500HD is ready for additional improvements. This time, the famous heavy-duty truck will gain more power. The 2022MY made its debut this September, so a new one will arrive one year from now. After minor updates, the new Silverado 2500HD will introduce further styling changes.

However, that’s not the big news, as the latest reports are suggesting more power. Thanks to that, Chevrolet will introduce the most powerful diesel engine in the segment. Interior upgrades are also happening, so the new Silverado 2500HD will definitely benefit from the latest refreshments.

Diesel Engine Delivers Over 500 HP

The reports are suggesting the all-new 2023 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with the same Duramax diesel. However, this familiar V8 engine is expected to deliver 505 horsepower and 1,085 lb-ft of torque. This improvement will put the Silverado HD and Sierra HD trucks at the top of the power rankings. Likewise, it would be the first full-size diesel pickup truck to reach 500 hp.

The current Ford Super Duty, with its 6.7-liter V8, has the most horsepower at 475. When it comes to torque, crosstown rival Ram takes the cake with its 6.7-liter Cummins generating 1,075 lb-ft of torque. If the story is correct, General Motors will have the most powerful full-size truck on the market. And we all know how much automakers love to boast about power when it comes to trucks. The current Silverado HD can tow up to 35,000 pounds and a new one will provide ever greater towing capacity.

Gasoline Engine Specs

From what we know, the gasoline engine under the hood of 2023 Chevy Silverado 2500HD will remain intact. It is another familiar engine, a 6.6-liter V8 that develops 400 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque. At the moment, Ford leads the segment with the most powerful gasoline powertrain. However, Chevrolet is not far from it. This unit is using a six-speed automatic transmission.

2023 Silverado 2500HD Exterior and Interior Changes

One of the toughest trucks available, the next 2023 Chevy Silverado 2500HD will be considerably more durable than prior models. This variant has a huge grille with Chevrolet branding across it. Several versions’ grilles reach the necks of taller people. We really like the larger corner stairs for better access to this big truck. The heavy-duty versions include a new DuraBed feature at the back. The manufacturer says the long-bed model offers the class-leading 83.3 cubic feet. Towing mirrors and a motorized tailgate are now standard.

The cabin of the 2023 Chevy Silverado 2500HD will be similar to the half-ton 1500 pickup truck. Depending on the cab configuration, this truck’s cabin may accommodate up to six passengers. Generally, a crew cab is favored over a double cab for extra space. The Silverado’s cabin isn’t as technologically advanced as the Ram Heavy Duty. It has an 8-inch touchscreen instead of the 12-inch screen seen in Ram trucks. However, the High Country trim level adds luxury amenities like larger displays and leather seats.

2023 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Price and Release Date

The forthcoming 2023 Chevy Silverado 2500HD will now cost more than its predecessor. Considering the engine improvements and numerous exterior and interior modifications, the new model should start at over $35,000. The sales will begin in September 2022.
