2023 GMC Canyon AT4: Release Date, Spy Shots

All the photos that have been leaked of the new 2023 GMC Canyon AT4 are here. The current generation of the Canyon pickup is here for almost eight years. Now, the GM is going to make big changes to models like the Chevy Colorado and the GMC Canyon. Canyon is a fascinating mid-size pickup truck with modern styling and good performances.

In the first spy shots, you can see a lot of the new features and they are very exciting. However, nothing will change under the hood. The AT4 trim level is a popular choice now, but GMC is also going to make a new AT4X model. There are a lot of new things going on, so here’s what you need to know.

GMC Canyon AT4 Spy Photos

Pictures of a prototype 2023 GMC Canyon AT4 are showing it parked somewhere in the state of Colorado. A new mid-size pickup has never been shown in public before. However, the first spy shots are very interesting. In addition to the truck’s extensive camouflage covering the whole thing, a quick-made cover was put on the test car.

Even though the covers hide the body lines, it’s clear that the mid-size Canyon will stay pretty much the same. Though you can’t see the grille features, the proportions suggest this is a GMC Canyon with a bigger face. Also, the big fenders and low suspension height show that this is an AT4 model. Tires are easy to spot, which were 265/65 Goodyear Wranglers mounted on 18-inch wheels. It’s possible that the tires on the new AT4 will not be as aggressive as the tires on the current AT4.

Interior Features

The cabin of the 2023 GMC Canyon AT4 is quite a mystery right now. These pictures didn’t show any of the interior specifics. If the new Chevrolet Silverado is any guide, both the Colorado and Canyon will have bigger infotainment screens.

Canyon will not go with the minimalist approach that some other cars do. This means there will still be a lot of buttons and knobs for controlling different parts of the vehicle. When it comes to technology, it’s not likely that Super Cruise will reach the mid-size fleet. But these days, anything is possible.

Engine Specs

When it comes to powertrain options, GM is likely to follow Ford and only offer one four-cylinder powertrain. The most likely engine is General Motors’ 2.7-liter turbocharged engine, which can make up to 310 horsepower. A Ford engine can’t compete with this one. From what we know, there won’t be a diesel option to choose from.

Unlike the regular Canyon, the AT4 trim level is for people who like to go off-road. It has a lot of off-road equipment, more ground clearance, unique tires, and other mechanical changes. So, as we said, the new AT4X version will fit above the AT4. It will have even more features than the AT4.

2023 GMC Canyon AT4 Release Date, Price

The new Canyon will cost about $27,500. This means that the 2023 GMC Canyon AT4 will cost at least $38,000. We don’t know yet if the sales will begin this summer or in the fall. We will learn more about the next-generation pickup in the coming months.
