2023 GMC Sierra to Introduce Minor Updates

Following the main update for the 2022 model year, the 2023 GMC Sierra is scheduled to feature modest updates. The 2022 Sierra introduced some significant upgrades, especially inside the cabin. Even the exterior design gained nice improvements. This means the 2023MY won’t change at all. Of course, minor updates will happen.

Moreover, Sierra will deliver more standard features, new safety aids, and much more. Engine lineup won’t change, although some reports are predicting more power. Generally, the Sierra 1500 pickup truck is set for a smooth sail, after dramatic upgrades. Here’s everything you need to know about this impressive model.

2023 Sierra Remains Intact in Terms of Design

The upcoming 2023 GMC Sierra will gain a mild facelift this time. As we said, the 2022MY will introduce significant upgrades, so the new Sierra will do quite the opposite.  The 2022 redesign includes a new front fascia, revised bodywork, and new taillights. The 2023 Sierra will wear those upgrades.

However, the approaching model could gain slightly more chrome accents. On top of that, we expect to see one or two new color options. Additionally, GM will add new cameras and radars. Besides that, this handsome and stylish pickup truck won’t change at all.

Interior Gets Small Updates

The next 2023 GMC Sierra will introduce minor technology updates. The 2022 Sierra will arrive with a tablet-like 10-inch touchscreen and higher-quality materials. Cabin design has also been enhanced, and a new interior layout will provide more passenger room. Everything, including the all-digital instrument cluster with a 15-inch head-up display, is sleeker than before.

An optional rear-seat entertainment system with 12.6-inch screens is available. Small changes to the dash will also take place. This means the 2023MY can only deliver the newest driver-assistance aids and the update of the infotainment system. As we said, the Super Cruise hands-free system will become available, most likely in the range-topping Denali trim level.

New Sierra Will Gain Better Towing and Hauling Capability

And while the 2023 GMC Sierra won’t offer new engine options, some improvements are about to happen. Various reports wrote about a 3.0-liter Duramax diesel engine. According to some rumors, this inline-six engine will have greater cooling to boost hauling capability. Furthermore, it is one of the most dependable diesel powertrains in the US. As a result, GM may be able to increase its fuel economy as well. Sierra also has two gasoline engines, a 4.3-liter V6, and an optional 5.3-liter V8.

There will be no increase in terms of power for the gasoline engines. There is also a smaller 2.7-liter turbo-four engine with 310 hp and 348 lb-ft of torque. This smaller unit is available with an eight-speed, while the other two gasoline outputs are using a six-speed automatic transmission. Lastly, Sierra will introduce greater hauling ability, probably via a new optional package.

2023 GMC Sierra Release Date, Price

The 2023 GMC Sierra will go on sale in the second half of 2022. This modern pickup truck will once again cost around $33,000, while the range-topping Denali variant is available for $60,000. Sierra 1500 pickup truck will continue to rival models such as Ram 1500 and Ford F-150.
