The upcoming 2023 Honda Ridgeline Type R could happen in the near feature. More and more high-performance pickup trucks are available nowadays. Ridgeline, one of the segment’s most reliable models, must improve and the high-performance variant is the answer. Honda is reportedly working on a Type R version. It’s a sportier variant with more aggressiveness and quality.
The most crucial upgrade is the new powerplant. Customer preferences vary from athletic to wilder. Thankfully, Ridgeline Type R will be a complete pickup truck. The Japanese maker will also improve the interior design and add innovative suspension.
2022 Ridgeline Type R to Introduce Aggressive Bodywork
The new 2023 Honda Ridgeline Type R will look athletic and forceful. The Ridgeline pickup will have many unique staff and it will slightly depart from the base model. The mid-size Ridgeline is the ideal contender for Honda’s Type-R treatment. Unique design and athletic posture will be introduced in this edition. Some things will be redesigned, and some will be brand new.
The manufacturer will increase the size of the vents, wheels, and air intakes. The front end has a blacked-out grille and a new bumper. We don’t expect many surprises, as the Civic Type-R model resembles the Ridgeline Type R. A three-section grille and a bigger scoop are required. This model has a lower ride height and lots of red decorations. 19-inch wheels will be on offer as standard, but 20-inch rims will be on offer for sure, as an option.
Sporty Interior Design
The 2023 Honda Ridgeline Type R will be more luxurious inside than other trim levels. Yes, comfort is preferable, but the emphasis is on sport. Honda will therefore add gorgeous red accents, a sporty steering wheel, and more. Leather seats and contrast stitching are standard. A larger tachometer will also be included on this variant.
A redesigned clutch pedal and gearshift are expected from Toyota. The cabin arrangement won’t alter, but the focus will shift to the driver. Moreover, sportier steering wheel could be the highlight of the Ridgeline Type R version.
The V6 Will Produce More Power
The 2023 Honda Ridgeline Type R will deploy the same 3.5-liter V6. Not surprisingly, the manufacturer will tweak this engine to provide additional power. This V6 currently makes 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. The new Ridgeline Type R could have around 400 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. If true, this will be a highly powerful pickup vehicle.
Also included will be VTEC and direct-injection gasoline systems. Of course, all-wheel drive is standard, but Honda is yet to reveal more specifications. Anyway, Type R will deliver increased performances over the rest of the Ridgeline trim levels.
2023 Honda Ridgeline Type R Price, Release Date
The 2023 Honda Ridgeline Type R will start at around $50,000. So, Type R may cost more than Black Edition Ridgeline. The high-performance pickup truck will be available in the second half of 2022.
