2023 Jeep Gladiator Mojave Will Not Offer Hybrid Power

The 2023 Jeep Gladiator Mojave is one of the most exciting upcoming models. It is a desert-rated pickup truck with great capability. Gladiator is a fresh model, so there will be no big changes. If this is true, the next model won’t surprise us at all. Everything else is merely an update, with the hybrid model being touted as something entirely new. Because of that, the Mojave model is what we are waiting for.

In the beginning, it’s a desert-rated pickup truck, which means it’s a different kind. This model has a unique chassis that lets it go very fast, especially on the road. The sales will begin later in 2022, and here’s everything you need to know.

Jeep Gladiator Mojave Engine Specs

The 2023MY will reportedly introduce a hybrid powertrain, or the ‘4xe” version. The 2023 Jeep Gladiator Mojave could offer this type of engine, but it is unlikely to happen. Instead, the Mojave model will offer both gasoline and diesel engines. 3.6-liter V6 gasoline is standard, producing 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque.

On top of that, a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel engine is available as an option. It is a diesel V6 variant with 260 horsepower and up to 442 lb-ft of torque. Naturally, Mojave will perform better with the optional diesel engine, especially in terms of off-roading. Still, the gasoline engine provides more than solid performances. You can choose between the six-speed manual and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Mechanical Upgrades

What makes the new 2023 Jeep Gladiator Mojave so special is its mechanical components. This Desert-Rated pickup truck completely departs from the rest of the Gladiator lineup. For a start, a 4×4 system comes as standard. Moreover, Gladiator Mojave delivers a two-speed transfer case, impressive approach/departure angles, and a good crawl ratio.

The ride quality is amazing, as the pickup truck comes with a rear locking differential and a solid front axle. Rubicon trim level is similar to the Mojave, but it comes with a different mechanical setup and it brings electronically locking front differential, along with the front anti-roll bar.

Exterior and Interior

As we said, the upgrades for the upcoming model are minor. We expect to see slightly more standard equipment and new driver-assistance aids, but that’s about it. The 2023 Jeep Gladiator Mojave comes with a lot of standard features, already. The exterior design does not depart from the rest of the lineup, significantly. However, Mojave does provide more ground clearance and chunkier tires.

Generally, Jeep provided a wilder character to this model by upgrading a couple of exterior features. 17-inch wheels wrapped in 33-inch all-terrain tires are standard. This model is recognizable thanks to numerous orange accents, orange tow hooks, and the Desert-Rated badge. Besides that, the interior provides unique upholstery for improved grip, so serious off-roading will not throw you out of the cabin.

2023 Jeep Gladiator Mojave Price, Release Date

The price of the forthcoming 2023 Jeep Gladiator Mojave will start at around $47,500. On the other hand, the base model will cost around $33,000. The sales will begin later in 2022, and we are waiting to hear if the hybrid powertrain will be available in the Mojave model.
