The 2023 RAM 1500 G/T will be available once again. The G/T is a brand-new kit for 2022, so the 2023MY should be a carryover. Of course, regular RAM 1500 will get a couple of refreshments, and G/T model will surely gain the same upgrades. What is RAM 1500 G/T? It is not a trim level, but it is some sort of performance package.
This treatment is available on Laramie and Rebel trim levels. If you buy this package, you’ll get numerous performance upgrades, including paddle shifters, reworked exhaust pipes, and much more. Interestingly, this kit can be had with an eTorque mild-hybrid system exclusively. Ram will also upgrade exterior design and will also deliver additional interior features.
RAM 1500 G/T Exterior Changes
Visually, the 2023 RAM 1500 G/T will look sportier than the base trim level. As we said, this treatment is available exclusively on Laramie and Rebel trim levels. It adds a sport performance hood and exterior decals. Bodywork is slightly more aggressive, but the exterior is tweaked subtly, so there are no dramatic upgrades of any kind.
Still, this truck looks very sporty and closer to the legendary RAM SRT 10 model. If you are not into the RAM TRX model with a supercharged engine, G/T is a perfect alternative that will provide that sporty vibe you are looking for.
Interior Upgrades
Interestingly, the interior brings more updates than the exterior. The 2023 RAM 1500 G/T comes with numerous upgrades. For a start, there’s a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and it comes with a pair of paddle shifters. The manufacturer also provides a console-mounted gearshift, which replaces the traditional rotary knob. RAM opted for leather upholstery and eight-way power-adjustable front seats.
You’ll also get lumbar support, heated/ventilated seats, and all-weather floor mats. There is also a unique Mopar pedal kit, along with impressive lighting under the seats. Lastly, this G/T themed interior will also add the “Performance pages” on the infotainment screen. Basically, it shows real-time engine stats.
eTorque Mild-Hybrid Powertrain is the Only Option
As we said, the 2023 RAM 1500 G/T comes exclusively with a 5.7-liter V8 engine with an eTorque mild-hybrid system. This output is capable of producing 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. It also provides good fuel economy ratings.
We think the performance will remain intact, although improvements in terms of power are always a possibility. RAM also provides mechanical upgrades such as a new cold air intake, a 3.92 rear axle ratio, an improved exhaust system, and much more.
2023 RAM 1500 G/T Release Date, Price
The G/T or “Grand Tourer” will cost you an additional $3,000 over the base price. This means the 2023 RAM 1500 G/T will start at $55,000 and move up from there. This isn’t a TRX model with a supercharged engine, but it provides a sporty appearance and good fuel efficiency. There are two trim levels available and G/T kit will transform both trim levels into a cool and sporty truck. The sales will begin this summer, but we expect to see minor updates only.
