In the last couple of years, you read a lot of rumors regarding the return of the Montana pickup truck. Finally, it is official and the 2024 Chevy Montana is making a comeback. New model is currently in the phase of development and Chevrolet recently released a teaser of the new pickup truck.
It will be a compact pickup and it will go on sale in South America. The sales will begin in the second half of 2023. It will be an exciting pickup with so much to offer. We already know a lot about this new model so here’s everything you need to know.
Chevy Montana Exterior Redesign
After the most recent teaser, the 2024 Chevy Montana is now so mysterious. For a start, the revealed silhouette shows a pickup with a crew cab configuration. It will be a compact pickup truck and its design is based on the new Chevy Blazer SUV. You can find Blazer’s influence on the front fascia, but some other parts are also showing the same impact.
The rear section sports a unique cargo bed. Furthermore, the LED taillights are sitting higher and are connected by a nice gloss-black trim. Big CHEVROLET lettering is easy to spot, along with the larger rear window.
The interior of the 2024 Chevy Montana is perhaps the biggest mystery at the moment. We don’t know that much about the cabin design. However, Chevrolet will not introduce a brand-new interior, and Montana will probably borrow lots of things from other models. On the other hand, Montana won’t provide as much luxury as the Silverado 1500 truck.
Still, it will be a modern cabin with a solid passenger room and a couple of new high-tech features. The crew cab setup will be available, but we don’t know if that’s the only cab configuration offered. We are waiting to hear more details from Chevrolet, including standard and optional displays, a version of the infotainment system, and a list of equipment.
Officially, the upcoming 2024 Chevy Montana will sit on the GEM platform. It is an extended version of the architecture that also underpins models such as Chevy Tracker and Chevy Onix. And while the engine lineup is not available, this platform clearly suggests a smaller 1.2-liter engine with 133 horsepower.
That’s more than enough for a compact pickup such as Montana. Luckily, there will be an optional powertrain. Some rumors are predicting a hybrid powertrain with 250 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque. However, this is just a rumor at the moment, especially because Montana is a model for South American markets.
2024 Chevy Montana Price and Release Date
First of all, the forthcoming 2024 Chevy Montana will be an affordable pickup. Therefore, it should start at around $20,000. Chevrolet will offer a couple of trim levels, so the range-topping trim will cost above $30k and it will provide more luxury. As we said, production is about to start and the compact Montana pickup truck will go on sale in the second half of 2023 in South America.
