The upcoming 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning is on the way once again. It is a new model, so the 2024MY will not introduce many updates. However, Ford will reportedly provide more power than before, and it will provide more high-tech features. It is an impressive all-electric truck, based on the iconic F-150 truck. The fully electric truck segment is on fire right now.
Ram recently unveiled the 1500 Revolution model, and Chevy Silverado EV is also around the corner. Therefore, three big automakers in the United States are continuing the battle for the best light-duty truck. On top of that, Rivian R1T, GMC Hummer EV, and many other models will join the race soon.
Ford F-150 Lightning Specs
The Lightning model, according to Ford, will generate a lot of power. Given the competition, the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning will receive additional performance upgrades. The starting output of the present model will be 565 horsepower. The new model, on the other hand, will be capable of producing up to 580 horses. Of course, we’re talking about the extended-range model. The basic version will produce 425 horsepower. But, according to rumors, it will produce 450 horsepower by 2024.
The torque on both versions, though, will remain at 775 lb-ft. The slight gains in payload and towing capacity that should result are insignificant. As for the batteries, the standard battery pack provides a driving range of 230 miles on a single charge. The extended-range battery will have a range of 320 miles. Overall, it is a minor, but very important improvement.
Interior Upgrades
The next 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning will almost certainly offer even more high-tech amenities. Unfortunately, we do not expect any significant yet. Blue Oval manufacturer provides over-the-air updates, and the next model will almost certainly have additional safety features. Blue Cruise, a hands-free driving system, is available.
Another big improvement is the FordPass app, which allows remote car control and makes it easier to identify charging outlets. Another wonderful piece of software is Onboard Scales. Using sensors, this one calculates how much weight the car is dragging. The Onboard Scales may now display driving range even while the vehicle is transporting or towing stuff. SYNC 4A infotainment is now available only on the Lariat and Platinum models. Even entry-level models will benefit from a huge 15.5-inch display to support this technology.
2024 Ford F-150 Lightning Release Date and Price
The price of the new 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning truck will significantly jump. This astonishing model was available for about $41,000. We could say it was a bargain, but the next model will start at $57,000 or slightly above that, per reports.
On top of that, the Extended Range model will cost $100,000. With so many rivals coming, the F-150 Lightning model will try to reach the top of the segment. Because of that, upgrades are a must, but significant changes won’t happen in the next two or three years.
