2024 GMC Canyon to Introduce Important Upgrades

The next 2024 GMC Canyon model has been postponed for the next year, per reports. First spy shots are already here as we can see new model on a public street wearing thin camo. New Canyon is going to provide a significant number of modifications and changes.

The grille is modified and more appealing headlamps are also visible. The Canyon will remain a mid-size pickup. We like its upright interior design, especially in the upper trim levels. We don’t expect to see new trim levels, and even the powertrain lineup shouldn’t change.

Spy Photos, Colors

The upcoming 2024 GMC Canyon wears a mild camo in the first spy shots. The updated grille and front fascia, as well as the smaller and more curved headlamps, were visible despite the front end being concealed. As you can see, there is a new set of fog lights on the front bumper. The prototype wears a 20-inch wheels with a noticeable side profile.

We saw a pair of side stairs in addition to the new tires. This truck’s back should also provide some visual tweaks, such as a new rear bumper, and taillights. New exterior colors are on the way. On the other hand, popular paints such as Summit White and Satin Steel Metallic will be on offer once again.

GMC Canyon Interior Updates

The interior of the 2024 GMC Canyon is currently a mystery. The new model, however, has a completely new interior layout given its whole new styling. This indicates that the interior will likely remain spacious and that we can anticipate a higher level of comfort and more tech.

Of course, the Denali edition offers additional high-end amenities. That also includes more luxury materials, along with larger displays, a premium sound system, and more. As for the entry-level models, an 8-inch infotainment system should be available as standard.

Specs, Towing Capacity

Three engines will be on offer for the 2024 GMC Canyon, which comes as no surprise. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine has a 200 horsepower and 191 lb-ft torque rating. A 3.6-liter V6 engine with 308 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque is available as an option. The final and most popular option is a 2.8-liter Duramax turbodiesel unit, which can provide 181 horsepower and a torque of 369 lb-ft.

A four-wheel-drive system is an option on higher trims, whereas the base engine employs a standard two-wheel-drive setup. The Canyon’s maximum towing capacity with the stock engine is 3,500 pounds. However, if you upgrade to a Duramax engine, your maximum towing capacity will increase to almost 8,000 pounds.

2024 GMC Canyon Release Date and Price

The forthcoming 2024 GMC Canyon will hit the dealerships later than you think. This model has been postponed, so it should arrive later in 2023, unfortunately. The base trim level will cost around $27,000, while the Denali trim level will be available for over $40,000. As we said, Canyon will remain a mid-size pickup truck, competing with Nissan Frontier, Ford Ranger, and Toyota Tacoma.
