The upcoming 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 is ready for another important refresh. The mid-size pickup truck segment is the most popular at the moment. That is because individuals like to use them for non-work-related tasks. Full-sized pickups are designed for work and are rarely used outside of that industry.
They must therefore be reliable, strong, and durable. Powertrain selections are crucial for that, and GMC is currently doing an excellent job in that regard. GMC Sierra 1500 Gets Mild Facelift and New Colors
The next 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 still has an upright exterior design, combined with modern styling cues. Therefore, this truck is unique and easy to spot on the road. Moreover, the truck offers good underbody protection and solid ground clearance. In this manner, if you go off-roading, no barrier will become caught underneath you. Aluminum 18-inch lightweight rims support the truck.
This will result in some weight loss. Of course, GMC provides cool trim levels, and AT4X is the best option for serious off-roading. The lightweight material also makes up the front mesh. Bumpers are noticeable and somewhat protruding. The next Sierra truck will receive mild upgrades, which include new exterior colors, new elements, and small visual tweaks on the front fascia.
Interior Upgrades
The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 will also introduce interior updates. Not so long ago, this truck received a major refresh. Still, the manufacturer won’t stop with improvements. As a result, the seating will be better, and new, contrast-stitched upholstery will be used. A 13-inch touchscreen will be used for the infotainment system, and the dash will be all digital.
The new Sierra has enough room for five individuals to sit comfortably. The cab setups will remain, but the new Sierra will surely provide a higher level of comfort. The Super Cruise hands-free autonomous driving system will be available, most likely in the Denali trim level. New infotainment is on the way and this truck will also gain more safety aids.
Engine Specs and Sierra 1500 EV
The forthcoming 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 will keep its current engine options. However, one significant upgrade is on the way, and it is a brand-new Sierra EV variant with all-electric power. The base Sierra will offer a standard 2.7-liter gas engine and it will produce 310 horsepower. And while this unit comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission, other engines are mated to a ten-speed gearbox.
There are two optional V8 engines, a 5.3-liter with 355 horsepower and a larger 6.2-liter with 430 horsepower. GMC could provide a small power boost, but none of these engines will be able to match the Sierra EV. This all-electric truck will join the electric segment and it will rival Ford F-150 Lightning, Rivian R1T, and Tesla Cybertruck.
2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Release Date, Price
The base 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 will cost around $38,000. On the other hand, the range-topping Denali Ultimate trim level will cost above $80,000. We don’t know how much the Sierra EV truck is going to cost, unfortunately. In any case, the new Sierra 1500 will hit the dealerships next fall.
