The upcoming 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4 has been spied for the first time. What’s interesting about this batch of spy shots is that the AT4 treatment wears a luxury Denali package. This looks like a deadly combination, for a variety of reasons.
However, the current Sierra HD AT4 is still behind more popular rivals such as Ram HD Power Wagon or Ford Super Duty Tremor. For that reason, mixing off-road-oriented AT4 with a premium Denali trim level sounds like a reasonable thing to do. Without further ado, let’s see what this exciting model has to offer.
GMC Sierra HD AT4 Spy Shots
The new 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4 will introduce a couple of interesting upgrades. First spy shots are already here and the prototype model has been spotted wearing the luxury Denali package. Basically, this treatment on the AT4 variant includes lots of chrome accents and improved styling. The front fascia comes with unique grille inserts, horizontal slats, and a recognizable GMC badge.
The headlamps are more upright, and the AT4 model comes with red tow hooks. The side profile will include a new wheel design. The spy shots are showing 18-inch wheels with Goodyear Wrangler tires. However, 20-inch rims will be available as an option. The running boards are also wearing chrome materials and Sierra HD AT4 will provide Rancho shocks, along with the improved off-road suspension.
Interior Changes
The cabin of the new Sierra HD truck will include more upright materials. The same is with the interior of the 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4. Reportedly, the upper trim levels will benefit the most. Unfortunately, the spy photos are not showing interior details. However, this mix of the AT4 and Denali trim levels is more than promising.
This could possibly mean that the AT4 version will be more premium than ever before. On the other hand, a more premium interior means a higher starting price. At this moment, all we can do is predict, so we’ll wait for the manufacturer to show official interior upgrades.
Two Powertrain Options
In terms of performance, the new 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4 could gain potential powertrain updates. Still, the current engine lineup will remain. Everything starts with a 6.6-liter V8 gasoline engine. This unit provides 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque. A 6.6-liter turbodiesel V8 engine is optional and it develops 445 horsepower and a torque of 910 lb-ft of torque. Rumored engine updates are saying that the optional Duramax diesel engine will gain more torque.
Currently, Sierra HD AT4 has a maximum towing capacity of 36,000 pounds. This rating could be even higher in the future. The customers can choose between a 6-speed automatic and a 10-speed automatic transmission. Unlike other trim levels, the AT4 includes a locking rear differential, two-speed transfer case, and GMC’s Traction Select system.
