Ford dominates truck segment for decades. From compact to heavy-duty trucks, it always offers competitive models. Their unique design, respectable power, and constant upgrades set all the models very high. The all-new F-150 and Ranger models will probably be the biggest stars in years to come. However, Ford didn’t neglect its Super Duty segment. According to the latest news from pickuptruck2018.com, the upcoming 2019 Ford F-250 will get significant design changes. Even though the new generation of this beast was presented in 2016, only two years later some changes can be expected.
The first hint of something like that was the spy photos, taken the last summer near Ford’s headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan. The new 2019 Ford F-450 was seen on the road with some light camouflage (source: motor1). It is clear that the Super Duty model will borrow some design improvements from the new F-150.
2019 Ford Super Duty – Design Changes
Since the new generation was presented two years ago, it is not realistic to expect some major changes to the 2019 model. However, front fascia will receive some makeover. The headlights and front bumper will be similar to the F-150. The great chrome grille will probably stay unchanged. The same goes for the sidelines of the truck. Rear lights will also be slightly different. Interior will stay intact and depend on the trim level equipped with more or fewer gadgets. With its six trims, it will satisfy anybody’s needs.
2019 Ford Super Duty – Engine options
The second big improvements will be related to the performance of the new 2019 Ford Super Duty. The engine options will stay the same. The first one will be 6.2-liter petrol V8 engine.
And the second one 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 turbodiesel. So far, both mills were matched with 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. The petrol engine produced 385 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque while the turbo diesel delivered 440 hp and 925 lb-ft.
These figures could go up in the future since the Super Duty will arrive with Ford’s new 10-speed automatic transmission. This gearbox was already presented with 2017 Raptor model and gave great results. With the new transmission, the towing power will increase and be the best in class.
Release Date and Prices
The official debut of the new 2019 Ford Super Duty can be expected any month and its mass production in the second half of 2018. The price will stay similar as before and it will vary a lot.
