2019 Mercedes-Benz X-Class Release Date, Changes

Mercedes made a debut of its new X-Class pickup truck in summer 2017 in South Africa. This is a completely new segment for the German carmaker. Now, the new 2019 Mercedes-Benz X-Class is almost ready to hit the markets. This pickup is coming with three trim levels and four engines are available.

The X-Class is using Nissan’s body structure and chassis. It is rumored that this model will firstly hit the European showrooms, and after that, the sale will be expanded to South Africa and Australia. It is also rumored, that the Mercedes-Benz X-Class may come to the U.S. and South America next year.

2019 Mercedes-Benz X-Class Exterior Design and Trims

This is a handsome truck, and his front appearance is similar to the other Mercedes lineup of SUVs. The front twin-bar grille is now coming with the company’s logo that will be placed in the middle of it. There is also a new LED headlights system, and it looks upscale. The X-Class is available in three trim levels. Pure, Progressive and Power. The Pure model is coming with 17-inch steel wheels and a metal rear bumper is painted in black.

The front bumper is also black, but plastic. Power-adjustable side mirrors are added as well. The mid-range Progressive trim comes with optional colors for front and rear bumper, but the area around the fog lights will remain black. The wheels are 17-inch alloys and rain-sensing windshield wipers are available too. The top-range Power trim is perfect for American customers.

The bumpers are made of chrome and the wheels are upgraded to an 18-inch “six-twin-spoke” alloys. The headlights are also upgraded to LED units and they come with distinctive LED daytime running lights. Taillights will also feature LED technology.

2019 Mercedes-Benz X-Class Interior

The cabin is new and much more different than anything that is offered in this segment. It comes with a 5.4-inch touchscreen that is placed between analog gauges, and the central infotainment system is above the dash. With the Power trim, one can get a screen of 8.4-inches. The Pure and Progressive trims are using a standard switchblade key, and Power trim is available with Keyless Go system. There is also a four cloth seat materials available, and two leather. The gear shifter looks cheap, in order to avoid that and some other plastic materials, you’ll have to opt for top-range Power trim.

2019 Mercedes-Benz X-Class Engine

The forthcoming 2019 Mercedes-Benz X-Class has four engine options. A V6 turbodiesel, two four-cylinder turbodiesels, and one gasoline four-cylinder engines are available. However, the customers can choose between two gearboxes. Six-speed manual and seven-speed automatic transmissions are available for all engines except a V6 turbodiesel. This engine comes with automatic transmission and AWD as standard.

The base X-Class model is powered by gasoline and naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine that can produce 165 HP and 175 pound-feet of torque. A 2.3-liter turbodiesel is a mid option, and some models like X250 are available with a bi-turbo system, and it creates 190 HP and 335 pound-feet of torque. The V6 turbodiesel will produce 260 HP and 406 pound-feet of torque.

2019 Mercedes-Benz X-Class Price and Debut

The 2019 Mercedes-Benz X-Class will start at the price of $50,000. This price is for the base Pure trim level with RWD included and a gasoline four-cylinder engine. Moving up through the trim levels, the price will rise.

However, no further information has been provided by Mercedes so far. The 2019 Mercedes-Benz X-Class will be released in first half of 2019, and we’ll have to wait until November for more detailed information.
