2023 Ram Heavy Duty Gains Exterior Redesign and New Transmission

The Ram 2500 and 3500 HD, along with the Ford Super Duty and Chevy Silverado HD, are segment leaders. According to reports, no heavy-duty truck competitor will be able to match the 2023 Ram Heavy Duty next year. A heavy-duty category is essentially a competition between Chevrolet, Ford, and Ram. Ram easily outperforms the competition in terms of interior aesthetics and riding quality. Ram will likely maintain its trend in the coming year.

These trucks have a roomy interior and a towing capacity of 37,000 pounds. A 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system is standard on both the 2500 HD and 3500 HD models. Ram has stated that this truck series will be available in the second half of 2022.

Ram Heavy Duty Redesign

The future 2023 Ram Heavy Duty trucks will be more streamlined, similar to the Ram 1500. The new headlights and split grille look great together. Ram claims that each trim level has its distinctive grille. The Power Wagon, for example, has a sharper grille and more decorative elements. Unlike the Ram 2500, it has a choice of single or twin rear wheels.

While the Dually version is identical, it offers additional functionality. By 2023, the Ram will feature smaller taillights and the same bed as the current model. While not a total redesign, the new Ram Heavy Duty range features many changes.

What About Engine Specs?

The upcoming 2023 Ram Heavy Duty will be available with three different drivetrains. A 6.4-liter V8 engine with 410 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque is standard. Once again, all-wheel drive is an option, and this engine comes with an excellent eight-speed automatic transmission. As an option, familiar Cummins turbodiesel engines with rear- or four-wheel drive are available. The Ram 2500 and 3500 will have 370 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of twisting power.

The second one is exclusive to the 3500 and delivers 400 horsepower and 1075 lb-ft of torque. This output is accessible only on the 3500. Both engines are equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission. The Cummins engine in the new Ram 3500 can tow up to 37,200 pounds and carry up to 8000 pounds. On the other hand, the base gasoline variant tows slightly below 15,000 pounds.

2023 Ram Heavy Duty Price, Release Date

The new 2023 Ram Heavy Duty will be more expensive than the current model. As a result, the new model will cost about $36,500. The Ram 3500 will be slightly more expensive than the Ram 2500 HD variant. According to the most current reports, sales should begin next summer.
