2023 Best Electric Pickup Trucks in the US Market

The pickup truck segment in the United States is popular like never before. However, hybrids are already here, and all-electric trucks are on the way. With the electrification coming, buying an EV is a smart decision, especially for pickup trucks. Our list will cover the models that will officially happen in the near future.

Of course, the number of models will grow over time. One fine example is the Ram 1500 EV, a model that will surely happen, but it is not official yet. Here’s the list of the best upcoming all-electric pickup trucks in the United States, and let us know which model is your favorite.

2023 GMC Hummer EV

The 2023 GMC Hummer EV caused a huge splash, especially with that LeBron James commercial during the Super Bowl. Hummer is an iconic model, and GMC is reviving it. This time, in a form of an electric truck. We already wrote about Edition 1, the most expensive version that will arrive first. According to the manufacturer, this model will produce up to 1,000 horsepower and over 350 miles of driving range. Reportedly, it will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in only three seconds.

GM’s Super Cruise driving system will be in use, and we expect to see a lot of premium features, especially on the inside. The truck will ride on 18-inch wheels, wearing 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler tires. It will be one of the most impressive models ever made. The price will start at $112,500 for Edition 1, while more affordable editions will arrive shortly after the most expensive one.

2023 Ford F-150 Lightning

The forthcoming 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning could be a game-changer. The F-150 truck is the best-selling vehicle in the US, and the electric Lightning model should represent the best version of this iconic truck that you can get. A driving range of 300 miles is more than acceptable, although there will be models with a better range. The F-150 Lightning will be able to produce 563 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque. This truck will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds, which is slower than the GMC Hummer EV. As you can see, the F-150 Lightning truck will have strong competition.

However, this model has reliability and tradition on its side. There will be two powertrain options, a Standard Range and an Extended Range. This means the lower-grade variants will have around 230 miles of driving range, and less power. On top of that, Ford will provide a lot of trim levels. The base price will start at $40,000, while the Limited version should cost up to $90,000. The production is about to start and the F-150 Lightning version will hit the dealerships by the end of the year.

2023 Chevrolet Silverado EV

Naturally, Ford, Ram, and Chevrolet will continue to compete in the pickup truck segment. After the Ford F-150 Lightning, we heard the first official details about the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado EV. This rivalry will be very interesting, as it seems that Ford and Chevy are having different looks on what the customers want. For a start, the Silverado EV will cost more, as the RST model will surely cost $105,000. The truck will use two electric motors, providing a standard AWD system and producing 665 horsepower.

On top of that, this model will develop 780 lb-ft of torque. Furthermore, the largest battery pack will provide 400 miles of driving range on a single charge. Standard equipment will include a 17-inch touchscreen but in the range-topping models. The base model will have an 11-inch display, for an instance. Whatsoever, the base WT trim level will produce less power, “only” 510 hp and 615 lb-ft of torque. The sales will begin at some point in 2023, and we can’t wait to hear more details about this impressive pickup truck.

2023 Rivian R1T

The 2023 Rivian R1T is another interesting model. One of the most interesting facts is that Ford and Amazon heavily invested in this model. The R1T is comparable to Honda Ridgeline in terms of size. It will provide 400 miles of driving range. There will be smaller battery packs, so the base version will have 250 miles on a single charge. Logically, the mid-range model will have 300 miles.

We think Rivian did a great job with balancing between a modern nice-looking truck and an off-road-capable model. We already saw the R1T truck in the action, beating tough terrains with ease. The performance will be very good, but what we like the most is the exterior design. The manufacturer offers a nice palette of beautiful colors, and even the interior is very premium and upright. The sales will begin this September and the price will start at $67,000.

2023 Tesla Cybertruck

The model that gained instant popularity is the 2023 Tesla Cybertruck. People love Tesla and everything that Elon Musk does. The Cybertruck caught huge attention thanks to its very odd-looking appearance and uniqueness. From stainless steel to bulletproof glass, this model is everything but ordinary and boring. Tesla plans to offer this model in three different setups. The first one includes a tri-motor layout with a standard AWD system. The second one is a two-motor variant, and the third one comes with a single motor and standard RWD system.

This truck will cost $40,000 and move up from there. The performance will be quite impressive, with the best-possible variant delivering around 500 miles of driving range. Tesla says the truck will be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 2.9 seconds. Moreover, it will have a towing capacity of 14,000 pounds. If you didn’t know, Tesla already delayed the Cybertruck model, but the official launch should happen later in 2022.

2023 Lordstown Endurance

In case you didn’t know, Lordstown is a company that came to life after buying the plant in Lordstown from General Motors. Shortly after that, the brand announced plans for the first-ever model, the 2023 Lordstown Endurance. Unfortunately, the startup is in desperate need of cash, so this truck is delayed. You can still preorder this truck, but no one actually knows when the production will start.

The Endurance model should have around 250 miles of driving range. The truck will deploy a four-motor setup, producing over 600 horses. We don’t have more details than that, besides the reported starting price of $52,000. Hopefully, Lordstown will find the way out and build the company’s first-ever model that has so much potential.

2023 Bollinger B2

The oddest model on this list is the 2023 Bollinger B2 truck. We said odd because it looks nothing like a modern vehicle. While other manufacturers are opting for a modern design and unique styling solutions, this one looks like a model made some 80 years ago. Bollinger is a startup firm based in Michigan. Besides the B2 truck, the automaker also has big plans for the B1 SUV.

According to Bollinger, the B2 truck will produce 615 horsepower and 668 lb-ft of torque. The truck will have a towing capacity of around 7,500 pounds. As for the driving range, 200 miles on a single charge sounds realistic. For some reason, this model will cost more than its competitors, although it comes with a not-so-attractive design and a pretty basic interior. Anyway, Bollinger said the plan is to build class 3, 4, and 5 work trucks.
