The 2025 Kia Tasman will be released at the end of Q4 of 2024 for the global market, including the USA. KIA has officially confirmed it will release two new pickups by the end of 2027. One of these pickups will be a Tasman. He will come as a fully electric vehicle and also in an internal combustion engine variant. The other pickup that will be released will be a fully electric truck whose main focus will be the smaller truck segment.
The 2025 Kia Tasman will focus on the mid-size truck market and will be a direct competitor to trucks like the Toyota Hilux and RAM 1500. So we can expect a powerful working truck that will offer good driving capabilities and good towing and payloading rates. Also, we expect it to have great driving capabilities because KIA will develop a new body-on-frame chassis just for this model.
Specifications
As previously mentioned, KIA will position the Tasman in the midsize truck segment. The primary objective of this truck is to deliver a high-performance vehicle at an affordable price. It will directly compete with the lower trim levels of the Toyota Hilux, Ford F-150, and Chevy Silverado 1500.
The 2025 Kia Tasman will offer a variety of engine options. These options range from a robust, work-focused diesel powertrain to a sportier gasoline V6 engine. Of particular interest is the fully electric model. All these engines will provide excellent driving and working capabilities while boasting best-in-class fuel efficiency. Every model of the upcoming 2025 KIA Tasman will feature all-wheel drive and will be paired with either a 6-speed automatic or an 8-speed automatic, depending on the model and engine.
Regarding engine specifications. The diesel variant is expected to feature a 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine, making it a true workhorse capable of generating up to 270 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque. When properly equipped, this powertrain will enable the Tasman to tow up to 7800 pounds.
The gasoline powertrain, on the other hand, will utilize a modified KIA Stinger motor. These 3.3-liter twin-charged V6 engines will be capable of producing up to 370 horsepower, primarily reserved for the sportier trim levels
2025 Kia Tasman Electric
For the electric variant, KIA is anticipated to employ a modified engine derived from the EV6 GT, albeit with larger batteries. The electric model is projected to achieve an impressive output of up to 590 horsepower and 700 pounds of torque. It will be built upon an 800V architecture, and when equipped with the maximum battery pack, it will boast an estimated range of up to 350 miles.
Although KIA has not officially disclosed the payload capacity. One can infer that due to the size of the truck bed and the body on the frame chassis. It is likely to hover around 2200 pounds for both electric and internal combustion powertrains.
2025 Kia Tasman Interior
The 2025 Kia Tasman interior will be a mix of practicality and comfort. It will come in a dual-cab variation, so it will offer space for up to five passengers. Depending on your model and trim package, it will range from a basic interior that is oriented for contractors up to a luxurious interior with top-quality materials used. Standardly, it will come with an 8-inch driver gauge and an 11-inch touchscreen. But higher trim levels will get a 13-inch touchscreen on the center console. Also on the center console, we will probably find a wireless charging pad with USB Type C connectors.
New Tasman will have plenty of safety features, and some of them will include lane-keeping assist, a rearview camera, a blind spot monitor, and much more.
2025 Kia Tasman Design
In terms of design, the Tasman is expected to have a mix of futuristic design and sharp lines. It will feature a big grille that will be closed on an electric model. On the front side, we will also find a modern-shaped headlight. The truck will have an aerodynamic, sporty body line. And on the rear end, we will find futuristic taillights with a spacious cargo bed. Depending on the model, trucks will come with different sizes of rims and tires and different designs. The starting size will be 17-inch rims, and we will find 19-inch rims on high-end models. Also, we guess KIA will offer an off-road model with all-terrain tires.
Price and release date
The starting price for the 2025 Kia Tasman will start at around $35,000 for the base model. The top-tier package will cost $47,000. The release date is not yet officially confirmed, but we expect Tasman to start hitting dealerships at the end of 2024 or Q1 of 2025.
We expect the KIA Tasman to offer a unique truck for people who want an affordable pickup that is capable and offers plenty of configurations. With its low starting price, it will be ideal for contractors and people who want cheap trucks for everyday needs.
